James Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Madagascar, where he is to spy on a terrorist Mollaka. Not everything goes as planned and Bond decides to investigate, independently of the MI6 agency, in order to track down the rest of the terrorist cell. Following a lead to the Bahamas, he encounters Dimitrios and his girlfriend, Solange. He learns that Dimitrios is involved with Le Chiffre, banker to the world's terrorist organizations. Secret Service intelligence reveals that Le Chiffre is planning to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro at Le Casino Royale. MI6 assigns 007 to play against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his organization. 'M' places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd. At first skeptical of what value Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together--and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre. In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Matthis, MI6's local field agent, and Felix Leiter, who is representing the interests of the CIA. The marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax.

This was not at all the James Bond I was raised on. The womanizing jerk with daring words and gadgets.
WHY IS HE EVEN IN A FORD FOCUS IN THE FIRST PLACE & WHY DID HE EVER SAY I LOVE YOU TO THAT WOMAN. THE 007 I GREW TO RESPECT WOULD HAVE NEVER SAID THAT ALSO JAMES BOND ONLY HAPPENED TO MAKE 3 KILLS IN THE MOVIE AND THE TRHEE WERE BLACK MEN. ONE HE SHOT IN COLD BLOOD!!! SO THE NEW JAMES BOND IS NOW CONSIDERED A RACIST.
WHO CARES ABOUT A POKER GAME THIS MOVIE REALLY MADE ME UPSET AND ASHAMED TO EVEN WANT TO PAY MONEY TO SEE IT. LIKE BUYING A MC HAMMER MUSIC CD THE VISUALS ARE GREAT IF YOU LIKE WATCHING POKER. ON ANOTHER BRIGHT NOTE THE FIRST SCENE WAS MAGNIFICENT AND FULL OF ACTION UNTIL 007 SHOOTS THE GUY IN COLD BLOOD
This is the worst james bond movie ever produced. What a crap story, dialogues are "D" rated, and there are almost zero visual effects..Don't waste your money and time.
I go to Bond movies more for my husband's interest than my own. But this Bond movie held my interest from beginning to end. Even if it were not a Bond movie, the film would stand well on its own. The storyline was a really good mystery with humor, romance, and suspense mixed in. The effects were impressive, but not unrealistic. Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond to date. Mentally and physically tough, easy on the eyes, and suave. A Bond who did not need fancy, unbelievable gadgets to do his job. I also liked that the leading lady was an unknown. In a nutshell, a believable, interesting storyline, a believable Bond, and a believable leading lady made this movie very engaging.
I wasted time in seeing this movie. Very very dispaaointing and please try seeeing any othet movie, which will be worth your money. No one will see the next bond movie if Daniel craig acts in it.
Most of the juvenile illiterates at the midnight show last night were expecting "same old, same old"! This is much more interesting and refreshing than ANY Bond flick, E V E R !!!!! I grew up with Bond from the beginning and what a metamorphosis! I predict Mr. Craig will be nominated for an Academy Award, helped by the fact that there isn't much else out there. But none the less, a total triumph!
?it doesn?t have a lot, but how about a great story, amazing action, thrilling suspense, and some great characters? Yes, and in great abundance! How can you have a Bond movie with out the Bond girl, car chase and gadgets? Simply do a great action espionage thriller which tells you how it all began. Which explains you why the Bond is the way he is, why the 007, and why everything else. It kicks of the fun for years to come, so not only you love all the action (and believe me?, there is plenty of things you?ve never seen), but you love the story. You wanna watch this guy. Since he gets all the thrills of killing, driving and girls, but now you understand how it is all possible. Have you seen the Batman Begins? ?can?t you wait now for another Batman or Superman movie? This is exactly the same thing. Just like with the first and second X-man or L.O.T.R. or first 3 Star Wars. You want more and more since this is the ride of the life time. Bond is not a model with lots of luck and finesses anymore. He?s a killer and all that sense of the word. He is not a Lassie, but rather pisses of British Bulldog on steroids! ?and you get to understand that right from the start of the movie. Do you remember the way Rocky Balboa was boxing at his beginnings? Like he was on the ropes, but wouldn?t quit? The way the Cool Hand Luke was? That is the movie you?re going to see if you choose so with this 007. That and all the fun of the future it brings with it. Forget the Brosnan the world champion in dancing on Ice, here comes the real deal agent! The one who actually delivers all he promises?
